ABOUT ME

My name is Simon Adams, and I aspire to serve as your elected Member of Parliament for North Dorset.

I am a great-grandson and grandson of individuals who fought in the First and Second World Wars, alongside campaigns in Burma and worldwide, I come from a family that has displayed a willingness to serve and devote themselves entirely to this country. Moreover, I am the son of two former police officers and a brother. I am also fortunate to have an amazing wife and two kind-hearted children whom I am incredibly proud of.

I served in the UK Royal Marines but unfortunately had to leave due to a significant injury which led to my medical discharge. Despite this setback, I have not let it define me. Instead, I have become the founder of a Community Interest Company with a focus on positively changing the Veterans' Support Sector and providing support to the most vulnerable individuals in society.

In addition to this, I have gained valuable experience working for large national government contractors, where I have supported hundreds of individuals in their journey towards a better future.

I am a North Dorset resident who's fully dedicated to representing the people of this community. This is where my children attend school, and I have deliberately chosen to raise them here. As an independent candidate, I won't have to choose between serving in government or being a constituency MP. By voting for me, you can be assured that I will always prioritise representing our community.

I want you to understand that my aim is to reintroduce a representative, consensus-led democracy, as our country has been grappling with the issue of "Tyranny of the Majority" for an extended period of time. I will faithfully represent the perspectives of North Dorset constituents and prioritise your daily concerns, rather than engaging in government posturing about their latest policies. Additionally, it is important for you to know that I was dedicated to fighting for this country during my time in service. Although I lost that ability due to a medical discharge, I remain passionately committed to safeguarding the country, its people, its borders, and its future. If given the opportunity, I will utilise every resource available to advocate for you and hold government officials accountable for their actions.

I have also founded a CIC to address the pressing issues that successive governments have ignored, particularly those affecting veterans. I have personally gained valuable insights from experiencing many of these challenges myself. I humbly ask voters for another opportunity to serve them, but this time in a different role, as their MP in Westminster.

I have developed a profound and reverential connection with the natural environment, which is rooted in my upbringing and my time in the Royal Marines. As a result, I am conscientious about minimising the use of printed materials like flyers in order to decrease waste. My fervour lies in safeguarding the planet for future generations, and I strongly support the eradication of "for-profit pollution" while simultaneously encouraging recompense for communities impacted by environmental harm.

SI'S COMMITMENT TO CHANGE

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

Over the years, successive governments, probably since the 1990s, have faced significant issues that have affected the British public. These include the Gulf War, Afghanistan, global terrorism, financial recessions, housing crises, mortgage crises, pensions, adult health and social care crises, skyrocketing senior living care costs, Covid-19, immigration, lockdowns, decline in the NHS and policing, and cuts to support services for those in need. Additionally, there has been a change in our communities, with social decline becoming more prominent.

We need to examine the causes of these issues, and in my opinion, it is because the government and those in positions of authority often lack the life experiences of the people they represent. In recent years, several Conservative MPs who became prime ministers claimed to know how to manage the country, yet the country is now perceived as being on the verge of collapse. We need individuals who have experienced the struggles of affording food, keeping a roof over their heads, or even being homeless. We need people who don't have millions or billions in their bank accounts and have had to live without luxuries like well-known satellite TV providers.

I'm not claiming to be perfect, as nobody is, but it is clear that there needs to be a change. We should move away from the persistent political parties that often fail to fully understand the challenges we face. The current process of electing a new prime minister is based on the "tyranny of the majority," where the party with the most votes appoints their candidate without considering the needs of the country. What we truly need is change in both the composition of the government and how they listen to the people. It is crucial that we have individuals who His Majesty the King can trust to do the best job for those within our borders, rather than individuals who have been involved in scandals.

Personally, I have taken the step to stand up for the North Dorset Constituency as an independent candidate because I see no clear leader being put forward. There is a risk that we will continue to be guided by those who have no understanding of the lives we live "tyranny of similarity". As a country, we need strength and stability as the foundation for a better future, but none of the current parties or prime minister candidates seem to prioritise this. We also don't need individuals who claim they will be a nuisance in Parliament.

In our increasingly fragile global situation, we must take a balanced and pragmatic approach to moving forward. It is important that we don't appear as a country unable to unite ourselves. Those who talk about reforming the country are no different from the other large parties, as they ultimately prioritise power over knowledge. In my opinion, the only way to achieve positive change is to reject these larger parties that have let us down so many times. Instead, we should turn our attention to local candidates who will work on our behalf. Hopefully, these individuals will have the necessary experiences to understand the consequences of rising taxes or declining wages.

ABOUT #Vote4Si >

My name is Simon Adams, and I am aspiring to serve as your elected Member of Parliament for North Dorset.

Throughout my adult life, I have been dedicated to serving our nation and the communities within it. My professional journey began in the esteemed ranks of the Royal Marine Commandos, a career that, regrettably, ended due to disabling injuries. This personal experience brought to light the challenges faced by service leavers and veterans. Motivated to make a difference, I established ExFor+, a Community Interest Company, with the specific aim of supporting veterans, their families, and dependents as they navigate the often-difficult transition to civilian life and thereafter.

My commitment has extended to working with diverse groups within our community, including those undeservedly afflicted by homelessness, as well as influential figures in the House of Commons and the House of Lords. My advocacy has spanned the local and national spectrum and includes raising awareness through the national media.

I am now seeking your support in the upcoming election on July 4th to extend my commitment to our local community. My ambitions do not lie in pursuing a ministerial position; my sole intention is to advocate for the interests and concerns of North Dorset's constituents in Westminster. This comes at a crucial time when many ordinary working individuals are encountering greater challenges than they have for decades.

By casting your vote for me on July 4th, you will be elevating North Dorset's needs to the forefront. Together, we can ensure your voice is heard and your priorities are addressed. Your vote is a step toward a community that is fully represented and a future that reflects our shared values and aspirations.
